Events and Fundraising
Fundraisers allow students and parents to work together and raise funds for the band. Fundraisers allow the band to offer unique musical educational experiences that our kids might not otherwise enjoy.

Uniform Fittings
Signup for Uniform Fittings (all students, even those returning). And signup to Volunteer too!
Please bring completed Band Camp forms to the fittings. Fittings are held in the band hallway near the band room. Guard members can stop by any time.

Band Camp
LZHS Band Camp runs from July 25 - 27th at Carthage College. Student check-in is 8am on Tuesday (7/25). Parents make sure to drop by to make sure all paperwork is complete. Students are picked up on Thursday (7/27) after the 7pm performance on the field at Carthage College. There are no buses back to LZHS.
Request Band Camp Roommates, complete Google Form if you'd like to use your student account funds for payment, and help with Band Camp donations of snacks or drinks. Band Camp forms are in Thompson's Early Summer Band Letter
Home Football Games
Lend a hand and have fun with our Home Football games by helping our Uniform Committee. We need help distributing and collecting our Marching Uniform at each home game. The football schedule link is available under the BAND FAQ page.

RaiseRight Gift Card Rebates
Purchase throughout the year or reload anytime you choose. These gift cards are used for many merchants in the area, and you receive a percentage of the total card. Before you know it, you'll be racking up the savings. View our event flyer for more information, or create a RaiseRight account with the BBLZ account number.
Physical Gift Card orders are due on the 10th of each month (no orders June, July, or August)
This fundraiser will contribute to your Student Account balance.

Car Wash
Our annual car wash always makes a big splash! Find us in the LZHS Performing Art Center (PAC) parking lot. Purchase tickets ($20 for four tickets) in advance at Band Camp check-in or Thursday at Carthage during pickup. Stop by on Saturday; donations are always welcome. View our event flyer.

Spirit Wear
This is our annual Spirit Wear Sale for Band and Color Guard students and parents. Select from our new designs and purchase T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Yard Signs (under view all), and more to show support throughout the year.

Senior Night
Celebrating seniors and their families at the first LZHS band halftime performance! Timeline summary from the athletic department for Friday, September 1st
5:30-Sr. Parents begin to arrive (place their seats in the stands). Please arrive early so as not to create congestion at the entrance.

NU Band Day at Ryan Field
LZHS joins other local bands for a performance at Northwestern University's Ryan Field. Bands will take the field during halftime for a wonderful musical event on Saturday, Sep 9th @ 5:30 am call time.

** Ryan Field does not take cash. Please ensure your student has a debit/credit card (or is paired up with a friend who has one) for food purchases. Also, there is a clear bag policy (details in link above).
Middle School Night
Middle School Night is an opportunity to demonstrate the band program to the 7th and 8th graders from MSS and MSN. LZHS Band will host sectionals to help strengthen musical skills and inspire our band community. Students will play together near 8:30 pm (may run up to 15-20 minutes early).

Poinsettias Sales
Orders are due by Mon, Oct 31st, and pickup is Wed Nov 30th (10am-6pm) at the Hope Collective. Band students are selling these beautiful plants again this year (red, white, or pink). Check out the event resources - flyer, student order form, and Poinsettia Care instructions.
Lend a hand and volunteer on Nov 30th for Poinsettia Delivery.

Band-O-Rama
This is an end of Marching Season performance. It will showcase all the exciting and toe-tapping music the students learned.
Come prepared! BBLZ and Mr. Thompson will auction off an opportunity to lead the Marching Band in playing “Hey Baby." That’s right, you can be a drum major for a song. 6 reserved seats for concerts will be auctioned off too. Last auction item, lead one of the bands for a song at the May 3rd Concert. Donations of cash, check, or credit card are accepted.

Our Jazz ensemble will be performing at the Jazz Showcase in downtown Chicago. Check out the information about the facilities.

Trivia Game Night
Click to reserve and pay for this parents' night out event. Have a meal/drink before or during the game to thank our hosts, The Hungry Mule. Buy a table for up to 6 players ($60), or signup individually for ($10 and we'll build a team for you)

Wind Ensemble Invitational
LZHS Wind Ensemble will host Barrington HS Symphonic Band and Maine West Wind Ensemble this year. Hear the incredible music in the Performing Art Center (PAC). Open and free to band members, friends, and the public.
Please volunteer to help serve dinner to our LZHS Wind Ensemble students and performing guests.

Jazz By The Lake (JBTL)
Friday, Apr 14th @ 6:30pm
Join us at the Royal Melbourne for a fantastic evening of music by the LZHS Jazz Ensemble, including dinner, games, and auctions (live and silent). This is our largest yearly fundraiser.

May Concert Program Dedications
Would you like to share a dedication to your band student in the May Concert Program? 400 characters (about 4 lines) maximum is allowed.

Band Video Orders
Would you like a great video of your student's performances? Half-time shows from the Marching Band and a collection of Concert, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz performances are all included. This is a wonderful year of music memories! Blue Ray DVD ($20) and Thumb Drive ($25) formats are available.

Cheesecake and Coffee
Stock up on delicious cheesecakes and freshly roasted coffee. Orders are due Tuesday, April 25th; delivery will be Thursday, May 11th, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. One payment for the combined Cheesecake and Coffee orders.

Congratulations to our 2023 Band Seniors!
The graduation ceremony is Sunday, May 21st. Sophomores and Juniors will be performing the music for the event.
