We need you!

Fundraisers allow students and parents to work together and raise funds for the band, allowing the band to offer unique musical educational experiences that our kids might not otherwise enjoy. BBLZ shares event information like deadlines, flyers, and volunteer needs on this page.  For our other volunteer needs, please see 2024-2025 Volunteers

Poinsettias Sales

LZHS/MSS/MSN students are selling these beautiful plants again this year (red, white, or pink).

Orders are due by Mon, Oct 21, and pickup is Wed, Dec 4 (10am-5pm) at The Hope Collective.  Orders may be turned in via Google Form or paper form.

Please consider signing up to help with delivery.  We need lots of help for this one!

Band-O-Rama

This is an end-of-Marching Season performance showcasing the exciting, toe-tapping music the students learned (half-time and pep songs). 

Come prepared!  BBLZ and Mr. Thompson will auction off an opportunity to direct the Marching Band for one song!  A second auction of six reserved seats for our band/jazz concerts.  Pick your seats, and we'll have them ready for you at every concert.  

This year, we're also holding a 50/50 raffle, where 50% of the proceeds will be donated to My Density Matters in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.

So, bring your band spirit and have a little fun with us.  Donations of cash, check, Zelle, or credit card are accepted.

Home Football Games

Lend a hand and have fun with our Home Football games by helping our Uniform Committee.  We need help distributing and collecting our Marching Uniforms at each home game. The football schedule link is available under the BAND FAQ page.

RaiseRight Gift Card Rebates

Purchase throughout the year or reload anytime you choose.  These gift cards are used for many merchants in the area, and you receive a percentage of the total card.  Before you know it, you'll be racking up the savings.  View our event flyer for more information, or create a RaiseRight account with the BBLZ account number.

Physical Gift Card orders are due on the 10th of each month (except June - August when no physical card orders will be accepted.) 

This fundraiser will contribute to your Student Account balance.

Trivia Game Night

Wind Ensemble Invitational

LZHS Wind Ensemble will host two high school bands.  Hear the incredible music in the Performing Art Center (PAC).  Open and free to band members, friends, and the public.  

Please volunteer to help serve dinner to our LZHS Wind Ensemble students and performing guests.

May Concert Program Dedications

Would you like to share a dedication to your band student in the May Concert Program?  400 characters (about 4 lines) maximum is allowed.

Band Video Orders

Would you like a great video of your student's performances?  Half-time shows from the Marching Band and a collection of Concert, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz performances are all included.  This is a wonderful year of music memories!  Thumb Drive ($40) format is available.

Cookies, Braids, and Coffee

Stock up on delicious Cookies, Braids, and freshly roasted coffee.   Orders are due Friday, April 19th; delivery will be Thursday, May 9th, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. One payment is required for the combined cookies, braids, and coffee orders.

2024 Senior Band Students

Congratulations to our Band and Color Guard Seniors!

The graduation ceremony is Sunday, May 19th. Sophomores and Juniors will perform the music for the event.  Call time is 2:00pm. Ceremony starts at 3pm.

Memorial Day Parade

Call time is 9:30 a.m. at the High School. The parade starts at 10 a.m. from the American Legion Hall.  The ceremony is held at the Memorial at the LZ Police Station.

Graduated seniors are welcome to join in.

Uniform Fittings

Sign up for Uniform Fittings (all students, even those returning).  And sign up to Volunteer too!  

May 20th - enter through PAC Door #15

May 29th, 30th and June 4th - enter through Main Security Door

Please bring completed Band Camp forms to the fittings.  Fittings are held in the band hallway near the band room.  Guard members can stop by any time drop off forms.

Band Camp

LZHS Band Camp runs from Wed-Fri, July 24-26 at Carthage College.  Student check-in is 8am Wed at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) parking lot.  (Parents, please stop by to make sure all paperwork is complete.)  Students are to be picked up on Fri after the 7pm performance on the field at Carthage College.  There are no buses back to LZHS.

Band Car Wash Fundraiser

Our annual car wash always makes a big splash!   Find us in the LZHS Performing Art Center (PAC) parking lot.  Purchase tickets ($20 for four tickets) in advance at Band Camp check-in or Thursday at Carthage during pick-up.  Stop by on Saturday; donations are always welcome.

Spirit Wear

Interested in Band and Guard merch?  Select and purchase newly designed t-shirts, sweatshirts, baseball hats, beanies, yard signs, and more!  A portion of all sales goes back to support the band.

Spirit wear is on sale again through Tue, Sep 3.  We'll arrange for order pick-up later in Sep in time for the Oct 4 Homecoming game.

Note: The order site contains a Band tab and a Guard tab.  No late orders will be accepted.

Friday, August 30 is Senior Night!  Let's celebrate our 40 seniors as their parents escort them onto the field before the football game!  

Note: This year's game will immediately follow a varsity soccer game, so there will be a small transition.

Middle School Night

Mark your calendar for Monday, September 16!

Middle School Night gives the MSN/MSS 7th and 8th graders a taste of marching band during one of our planned evening rehearsals.  The combined band will do a mini-performance in the stadium around 8pm. 

Note: If it rains, we'll likely move the rehearsal and performance into the fieldhouse.

Interested in helping distribute t-shirts to the middle-schoolers or snacks to all of the students, please sign up!

CANCELLED: NIU Band Day at Huskie Stadium

LZHS joins other local bands for a performance at Northern Illinois University.  All bands will take the field for a combined halftime show on Saturday, September 21  @ TBD Call Time (TBD buses leave, and TBD approximate return).

** Huskie Stadium does not take cash.  Please ensure your student has a debit/credit card (or is paired up with a friend who has one) for food purchases.  Also, there is a clear bag policy (details in link above).

Band Picnic

Due to the NIU Day schedule, we've chosen not to attend.  So, instead of NIU Day, we're having a picnic! 

What: All Band Picnic

When: Saturday, September 21, 12-3pm

Where: May Whitney Field

Food: Will be provided (BBQ, chips, drinks, dessert)

Activities: Various small and large group games and just a chance for students to hang out with their friends

Is there anything else you need from parents?  We do have 8 parents who have offered to help grill, serve food, help with games, etc.  If any additional parents are available and would like to help, just show up!
